The
American Osteopathic Association (AOA) is the representative organization for
osteopathic physicians (D.O.s) in the
United States. In addition, the AOA acts to certify osteopathic physicians and accredit osteopathic medical colleges. It was founded in 1898 in
Kirksville, MO. Today, the AOA is headquartered in
Chicago, IL.
