Elections in Nepal gives information on election and election results in Nepal.

Nepal elects on national level a legislature. The Parliament (Sansad) has two chambers. The House of Representatives (Pratinidhi Sabha) has 205 members elected for five year term in single-seat constituencies. The National Assembly (Rashtriya Sabha) has 60 members, 35 members elected by the Pratinidhi Sabha, 15 representatives of Regional Development Areas and 10 appointed members. Parliament has been dissolved by the king in 2002 on the grounds that it was incapable of handling the Maoists rebels. The country’s seven main political parties have staged protests against the king, arguing that the parliament be reinstated and elections held to a Constituent Assembly.

Nepal has a multi-party system, with numerous parties in which no one party often has a chance of gaining power alone, and parties must work with each other to form coalition governments.
