John Turtle Wood

Information about John Turtle Wood

John Turtle Wood was a British architect and engineer. He was sent by the British Museum to Ephesus, to search for the temple and eventually excavate it. In all, Wood spent eleven years at Ephesus (1863-1874), eventually finding and excavating the temple some seven meters below the ground surface.
