Libertatea

Information about Libertatea

Libertatea (The Liberty in Romanian) is a Romanian tabloid newspaper published in Bucharest. It features a bikini girl as the "Page Five Girl". The newspaper is generally socially-progressive in values and has a social liberal political viewpoint, in line with its title.

In 2005, Libertatea reported that a child was allegedly named after web portal Yahoo (Lucian Yahoo Dragoman), this story being taken by various newspapers across the world, but turned out to be a hoax article made by a Libertatea reporter. It has become more and more obvious in the past years, that the newspaper focuses on hoaxes instead of real news in order to increase its sells.
