Georgetown University is a private university in the United States located in the historic Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. It is both the oldest Roman Catholic and the oldest Jesuit university in the United States, having been founded on January 23, 1789 by Archbishop John Carroll. It is a member institution of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. It is incorporated as The President and Directors of Georgetown University. It may never be fully completed or, depending on its its nature, it may be that it can never be completed. However, new and revised entries in the list are always welcome.
