Rivera Plate

The Rivera Plate is a microplate, subducting under Jalisco, Mexico. It is north of the Cocos Plate and is thought to have separated from the Cocos Plate 5-10 million years ago. The subduction of the Rivera Plate has made earthquakes, the most recent was the January, 2003 Colima earthquake.
